About the shop
Video Game Rescue is a beloved local gaming store in Jacksonville specializing in retro and modern video games, consoles, and gaming collectibles. Founded in 2014 by Dustin Gartenbush, the store has grown into a three-unit venue featuring a well-stocked retail shop, classic arcade games (quarter-operated), and an event space for tournaments. They stock everything from Atari to PS5, with particular strengths in N64 games, Nintendo collections, and hard-to-find accessories for classic systems. The knowledgeable, friendly staff excel at customer service and offer fair trade-in pricing with store credit options. Customers consistently praise their expertise, reasonable prices, and welcoming atmosphere—a stark contrast to corporate game retailers.
